The Battle of the Five Armies is the last and the least of Peter Jackson’s six Middle-earth movies, but it is still pretty good. The element of surprise is long gone, the movie delivering just more of the same. I don’t have much to say about The Desolation of Smaug as far as plot and acting go. The middle part of the trilogy is basically just more of the same, an overlong but entertaining fantasy ride with some scenery-chewing.
